Featured Spot:

X-Games

Though at first not obvious, the vast majority of this spot is indeed effect work. The actor was filmed against greenscreen for every scene except the opening parts in the apartment. Most of the environments do not even exist, but were created in the post production. Benefitting from months of R&D, developing the techniques used to allow a free-moving camera, LAFFEY.tv worked with commercial director Paul Santana to produce this eye-catching roller coaster ride.

These free-moving camera techniques are unique in that they permit the incorporation of actual live actors into wildly impossible-to-film shots.

3D animation was done by lead artist, Joe Laffey. 3D models were created by Joe Laffey, with Mike Myers doing the hero modeling. X-Games was direccted by Paul Santana. Greg Daniels was the director of photography. Production was coordinated by Steven Gould. The soundtrack was developed by Marc Levison.

Note: The skateboarder never left the sound-stage, ever.

The X-Games skateboard spot has been select for inclusion in the Stash 05 edition of Stash DVD Magazine. See the spot in DVD quality and view bonus behind the scenes material, including select animatics, and compositing breakdowns.
