Digital Fusion Plugins
We at Laffey Computer Imaging are pleased to offer our first commercial plugins for Digital Fusion
Our plugins all bear the name "Pel", which is an old-school term for "pixel," or literally "Picture Element."
More plugins are in the works and should be released as they become available. So please check back often! Look out for some new tools for working with keyed and roto footage.
Within the next two weeks we will post a FREE plugin or two as well.

Pel Unsharper Mask
Unsharper Mask is an advanced sharpening tool for Digital Fusion. Designed for professionals by professionals, the Pel Unsharper Mask allows fine-grade control over sharpening your images, while limiting the effect on grain or noise.
You may be saying, "My shots are already in focus!" Don't let that keep you from trying the DEMO. You would be amazed at how much a little sharpening with Unsharp Masker can do to improve the snap of your images.

Pel Z Tool
The Z Tool is a node designed to ease working with Z (depth) channels in Digital Fusion. It will automatically setup your Z Channel values to work properly with Fusion's built-in depth tools, such as Depth Blur and Fog. Z Tool will even scan your entire clip and normalize the depth values to fit within the smallest possible range for the entire clip. Unlike a frame-by-frame normalization, which is something you should never do, Z Tool will set the near and far clipping planes properly for the entire clip, without causing the depth represented by any particular value to change throughout the clip.
FREE Digital Fusion Plugins
Pel Post Multiply and Pel Pre-Divide are free "building block" plugins for
Digital Fusion. They each perform one function, and do so fast. In fact, in
our tests, Pel Post Multiply was frequently over 30% faster than using a
Mat tool (which, consequently is almost twice as fast as using a Bol tool).
FREE!
Pel Post Multiply (link downloads both freebies + demos of above)
Pel Post Multiply does just that, multiplies the RGB by the alpha. This
prepares images for an additive Merge.
This is significantly faster than using a Bol or Mat tool.
FREE!
Pel Pre-Divide (link downloads both freebies + demos of above)
Pel Pre-Divide does just that, divides the RGB by the alpha. This prepares
images for a subtractive merge. Note that any pre-divide function can clip
RGB values if you are not working in float mode. (DFX+ users you are simply
out of luck). Toggle the pre-divide on and off and see if there is any visible
alteration of the image. If so, you may wish to use a Change Depth tool to
work in float mode. You would convert to float right before the pre-divide.
Then convert back to 16 bit, etc. after you had merged the result down stream.
This is significantly faster than using a Bol tool.
Volume discounts can be arranged for larger quantities. Please inquire.
